Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has issued a stern directive to Islamabad authorities to ensure the timely completion of the F-8 Exchange Chowk and Serena Chowk interchange projects. This crucial move aims to alleviate the daily traffic congestion woes plaguing the capital city.

Minister’s Surprise Visit and Instructions

During a surprise late-night inspection to check on the progress of the interchange projects, Minister Naqvi stressed the importance of working in three shifts and increasing the workforce during the night shift to expedite construction. He set a target for the F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange to be fully operational by February, with the goal of easing traffic congestion in Islamabad. Additionally, Minister Naqvi instructed the installation of a prominent national flag at the Serena Chowk Interchange to enhance its visual appeal.

Project Updates and Relief for Commuters

The completion of these projects is expected to provide significant relief to commuters facing daily traffic challenges in the capital. Minister Naqvi had previously announced that the under-construction underpass at F-8 Sector in Islamabad would open for traffic on 24 December. During his recent visit to the interchange sites, the minister reviewed progress and expressed optimism about the positive impact these projects will have on easing traffic congestion in the city.

Accelerated Development Plans by CDA

In a proactive move, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) unveiled plans to expedite the development of eight residential sectors in Islamabad. The focus is on delivering fully developed plots to allottees in a timely manner, with Sector C-14 leading the charge. Over 200 one-kanal plots in this sector have generated more than Rs12 billion in revenue through auctions, with possession set to be handed over to owners upon the completion of final installments.

With these strategic initiatives in place, Minister Naqvi and the CDA are working tirelessly to enhance infrastructure and urban development in Islamabad, ensuring a smoother and more efficient transportation network for residents. The timely completion of the interchange projects and accelerated development plans underscore their commitment to improving the quality of life in the capital city.
