Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is not really feeling the love from India right now, had a chat with the Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliky in Islamabad on Friday. He was all about asking Saudi Arabia and other friendly countries to give India a nudge to calm things down in South Asia after that whole Pahalgam attack mess.
During their meeting, Sharif made it clear that Pakistan is all about peace and stability in the region and totally condemns terrorism in any shape or form. He straight up said, “India, you have no proof about the Pahalgam incident, so stop pointing fingers at us.” He also mentioned that Pakistan is all for a fair and unbiased international investigation into the attack that happened on April 22 in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which sadly ended with 26 people losing their lives.
Sharif also made sure to point out that Pakistan is really focused on keeping up the good work when it comes to economic progress. He mentioned that they have been working hard with their international buddies, including Riyadh, to make things happen. He was like, “We are not about to mess up all the progress we’ve made, so don’t even go there.”
The Prime Minister also sent some love to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, thanking them for always having Pakistan’s back. Ambassador Al-Maliky was totally on board with Sharif’s vibe and mentioned that Saudi Arabia is all about teaming up with Pakistan to keep the peace in the region.
Now, things have been heating up between Pakistan and India lately, with both countries getting all up in each other’s business after the Pahalgam incident. India is pointing fingers at Pakistan for the attack, but Islamabad is like, “Nah, not us.” The tension is real, folks.
So yeah, that’s the lowdown on what went down in that meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliky. Let’s see where things go from here.
