Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spilled the tea on Wednesday, revealing that peace talks between Pakistan and India could potentially go down in Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with the US stepping in as the ultimate mediator. Chatting with journalists in Islamabad, the PM made it crystal clear that Pakistan did not ask for a ceasefire during the recent skirmish. He boldly stated, “If we did, the whole world would have been in the loop, trust me.”
The premier also spilled the beans on an understanding reached during chats between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of both nations. They agreed that their troops would head back to where they were stationed before the conflict kicked off. As the talks unfold, Pakistan’s squad will include the National Security Adviser and the Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Remembering the intense fight in Pasrur, the Prime Minister praised Pakistani forces for holding their ground despite taking heavy hits. “Our brave soldiers didn’t budge, even when they lost one soldier and eight civilians at the checkpoint. They fought till the end and didn’t abandon their post.”
Diving deeper into the details of the recent conflict, PM Shehbaz Sharif revealed that Pakistani forces fully leveraged Chinese tech during the battle. He even joked that Pakistan had turned into a “marketing nation for China” worldwide. The PM also gave a shoutout to China for standing firm with Pakistan and appreciated the unwavering support from Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Azerbaijan. So, it seems like Pakistan had a solid squad on their side during the showdown with India.
