Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif Blames PTI’s Leadership for Severe Economic Damage

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has made a strong statement regarding the state of the economy, pointing fingers at the leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for causing severe damage. Speaking at a Federal Cabinet meeting in Islamabad, the Prime Minister addressed a range of pressing issues affecting the country.

**Women’s Education Conference and Challenges**

During his speech, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif highlighted the recent conference on women’s education held in Pakistan. He commended the efforts of the Minister of Education, Secretary of Education, Minister of Information, and others in organizing the event. The conference saw participation from the Secretary-General of the OIC and education ministers from various countries.

Sharif emphasized the significant challenges Pakistan faces in providing education to women, with approximately 22.8 million children, mostly girls, not attending school. He stressed the crucial role of provinces in addressing these challenges and called for collaboration between the federal and provincial governments to improve the education sector. The Prime Minister also mentioned the emergency declared in the education sector a few months ago and urged the Minister of Education to work with the provinces to enhance educational opportunities for all.

**Achievements in Aviation and Border Trade**

In addition to discussing education, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif touched on recent developments in the aviation sector. He announced the resumption of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to Europe, with the inaugural flight to Paris marking a significant milestone. Sharif also acknowledged the efforts to lift restrictions on flights to the UK, expressing optimism about future travel prospects.

Moreover, the Prime Minister highlighted the opening of a new crossing on the Pakistan-Iran border in Panjgur, aimed at facilitating legal trade and curbing smuggling activities. He thanked Iran for its cooperation in promoting bilateral trade relations.

**Ongoing Security Operations**

Addressing security concerns, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif mentioned the progress in operations against the Khorij faction led by Pakistan’s Army Chief. He reported that 27 terrorists were recently killed in an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan, with operations continuing in other regions. Sharif underscored the sacrifices made in these operations, emphasizing their role in eliminating the Khorij threat and restoring peace in the country.

**Federal Cabinet Meeting Agenda**

The Federal Cabinet meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, is currently in session, with discussions on various important matters. The agenda includes deliberations on the right-sizing of federal institutions, proposed changes in the Aviation Division’s oversight, and the merger of the Narcotics Division into the Ministry of Interior. Additionally, decisions from the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) are expected to be ratified during the meeting.
