Ten terrorists met their end in a series of operations carried out by security forces in Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.

The ISPR, the media arm of the military, revealed that the slain terrorists were actively involved in a multitude of terrorist activities targeting security forces and innocent civilians. These operations, which took place overnight, were a significant blow to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), referred to as Khwarij by the ISPR.

Engaging the Enemy: Operations in Dera Ismail Khan

In response to intelligence indicating the presence of Khwarij, security forces launched an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Khulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan District. During the operation, our brave troops engaged the terrorists, resulting in the elimination of four Khwarij.

Moving swiftly to North Waziristan District, separate encounters unfolded in various areas including Datta Khel, Hassan Khel, Ghulam Khan, and Mir Ali. Fiery exchanges ensued between Security Forces and Khwarij, culminating in the successful neutralization of six terrorists by our troops.

Securing the Region: Recovery and Sanitization

Weapons and ammunition were among the items seized from the deceased terrorists, underscoring their active involvement in destabilizing the region through heinous acts of violence against security personnel and innocent civilians. Sanitization operations are currently ongoing to root out any remaining threats in the area.

The unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to eradicate terrorism from the country was reiterated through these decisive operations, aimed at safeguarding the lives and well-being of its citizens.

As these counterterrorism efforts unfolded, the backdrop of increased terrorist activity along the border with Afghanistan added a sense of urgency to the operations. Just the day before, security forces had neutralized six terrorists in an IBO in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan district, resulting in the tragic loss of two security personnel.

President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed their appreciation for the security forces’ successful operations against the Fitna-al-Khwarij in Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan districts. Their commendation highlighted the bravery and dedication of the forces in eliminating the threat posed by these terrorists.

The relentless pursuit of peace and security in the region remains a top priority for Pakistan, with these recent operations serving as a testament to the unwavering resolve of its security forces in the face of adversity.
