NLC and DP World Collaboration to Revolutionize Pakistan’s Logistics Sector

In a groundbreaking move to enhance efficiency in Pakistan’s logistics industry, the National Logistics Cell (NLC) and DP World (UAE) have officially announced a strategic partnership. This collaboration aims to streamline operations and boost the country’s logistics sector, paving the way for increased trade and economic growth.

Milestone Partnership for Logistics Industry

During a ceremony held in Karachi, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group CEO of DP World and Chairman of Ports, expressed his delight at partnering with Pakistan’s largest logistics institution, the NLC. He highlighted the significance of this joint venture, emphasizing its pivotal role in strengthening the logistics industry and benefiting the local business community.

Key Developments in the Collaboration

A high-level delegation from DP World (UAE), led by Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, visited Pakistan to finalize commercial aspects of the Dedicated Freight Corridor project. Through consultations with stakeholders, including DP World, Pakistan Railways, and NLC officials, progress was made towards the establishment of a Multi-Modal Logistics Park in Pipri.

During a ceremony at the Sindh Infrastructure Development Company (SIFC), a term sheet was signed between DP World and relevant parties to kickstart the project’s implementation. This initiative is expected to optimize freight services within the country, reducing the traffic congestion caused by freight vehicles in Karachi.

Transforming Pakistan into a Regional Trade Hub

With a multi-million-dollar investment, the project aims to realize Pakistan’s vision of a Multi-Modal Logistics Framework, positioning the country as a key player in transshipment and transit trade in the region. The successful implementation of this project underscores the commitment of both parties to fostering long-term strategic ties and leveraging Pakistan’s untapped potential for trade and connectivity.

This partnership signifies a significant step towards harnessing Pakistan’s strategic geographical location and enhancing its trade capabilities through improved port and railway infrastructure. As the country embarks on this transformative journey, the collaboration between NLC and DP World holds promise for a more efficient and prosperous logistics sector in Pakistan.
