The National Security Committee (NSC) had a meetin’ on Wednesday and they gave the green light to Pakistan’s armed forces to do somethin’ about them Indian airstrikes under Article 51 of the UN Charter. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was chairin’ the NSC meetin’ in Islamabad when all this went down. The NSC was all like, “Hey, it’s cool for our armed forces to respond to them Indian airstrikes that hit civilian areas.”
So, like, the Indian armed forces went and did some coordinated missile, air, and drone strikes on the night of May 6–7. They hit up places in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, includin’ Sialkot, Shakargarh, Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad. It was a real mess, with civilians — even women and children — gettin’ killed and civilian stuff like mosques and a hydropower facility gettin’ wrecked.
The NSC statement was all like, “On the night of 6/7 May 2025, the Indian Armed Forces launched coordinated missile, air and drone strikes on multiple locations within Pakistan’s sovereign territory, including Sialkot, Shakargarh, Muridke and Bahawalpur in Punjab, Kotli and Muzaffarabad in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.” They went on to say how these attacks were totally unprovoked and just plain wrong, targetin’ civilian areas under the made-up excuse of terrorist camps bein’ there.
India really messed up this time, puttin’ commercial airlines from friendly Gulf countries at risk and even takin’ aim at the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project. The NSC called these attacks “unprovoked, cowardly, and unlawful acts of war” and said they could respond under Article 51 of the UN Charter. They made it clear that Pakistan Air Force took down five Indian fighter aircraft and a drone durin’ their defense and they were ready for whatever else India threw at ’em.
The NSC also called out India for messin’ with international civil aviation and breakin’ international rules by hittin’ civilian areas. They were like, “Come on, India, what were you thinkin’?” Pakistan had been denyin’ India’s claims of terrorist camps on its land and even offered to let folks come check it out, but India didn’t wanna play fair.
The NSC said the international media had already visited these so-called “terrorist camps” on May 6, with more visits planned for May 7. But India was too scared of bein’ called out on their lies and decided to attack innocent civilians instead. The NSC called on the world to pay attention and hold India accountable for startin’ trouble that could mess things up for everyone in the region.
So, like, that’s the scoop on what went down with Pakistan and India. The NSC ain’t playin’ around when it comes to protectin’ their peeps and standin’ up to India’s nonsense. Let’s hope things calm down before they get even messier.
