A Bahrain-bound passenger has been apprehended at Lahore International Airport with 40 heroin-filled capsules in his possession, while another passenger en route to Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah was found with 64 crystal meth capsules in his stomach. This comes as part of a series of operations by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), leading to the seizure of drugs worth over Rs 220 million and the arrest of nine suspects.

Major Drug Seizures Across Pakistan

In Balochistan, a significant amount of drugs were confiscated, including 1,208 kilograms of hashish from Pishin. Near Islamabad, 8.4 kilograms of hashish were discovered in a vehicle’s hidden compartments at the M1 Interchange, resulting in the driver’s arrest. Furthermore, in Karachi, 250 grams of heroin were recovered from a motorcyclist near Main Korangi Road.

Operations in Various Regions

In Sialkot, authorities found 3 kilograms of heroin, 2 kilograms of crystal meth, and 1.2 kilograms of hashish in a suspect’s bag near Daska Chowk. Near Sargodha Mor, Mianwali, 4.8 kilograms of hashish were seized from two suspects. At the Kamonki Toll Plaza in Gujranwala, 2.5 kilograms of heroin were found in a truck’s secret compartments, leading to the driver’s arrest. Additionally, 700 grams of hashish were discovered from a suspect at the Burhan Toll Plaza near Attock.

Continued Efforts by ANF

Recently, the ANF conducted six successful operations nationwide, resulting in seven arrests and the recovery of over 101 kg of drugs valued at Rs 24.4 million. These operations included seizing 2 kg of crystal meth from a passenger’s trolley bag at Islamabad International Airport, and 1,060 grams of heroin from a passenger at Karachi International Airport.

In a routine operation at Peshawar Airport, authorities discovered 10.6 kilograms of hashish hidden in a suspect’s trolley bag. The suspect, traveling from Peshawar to London via Doha, concealed the drugs in boxes.

The ANF continues its efforts to combat drug trafficking and hold individuals involved in these illegal activities accountable. As investigations unfold, the authorities are committed to upholding the law and ensuring that those responsible face justice for their actions.
