MIRPUR: On Sunday, a massive number of tourists from all across the country gathered in the breathtaking snow-covered Neelam Valley of Azad Jammu Kashmir. After a prolonged period of dry weather, the upper regions of the valley were blanketed with the third round of heavy snowfall, bringing immense joy to both locals and visitors alike.
Tourist Delight in the Snow
According to sources from the State Disaster Management Authority, the Subordinate Graze Valley has been less frequented due to heavy snowfall in the higher altitudes of the Neelam Valley. Various tourist attractions in the mountainous region experienced moderate to high levels of snowfall, transforming the popular snow-covered resorts into playgrounds for tourists from different parts of Pakistan and AJK.
Weather Forecast and Safety Precautions
As per the latest forecast, there is a likelihood of light to moderate rainfall or snow in multiple areas on both sides of the Line of Control in IIOJ&K state. Additionally, heavy snowfall is expected in isolated upper regions of Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir Division, encompassing districts like Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Shopian, Anantnag, and Kulgam.
Residents of these high-altitude zones have been strongly advised to exercise caution and refrain from entering avalanche-prone areas in the next 24 hours, as per the recommendations from AJKSDMA. It is crucial for individuals to stay updated on the situation and follow safety protocols to reduce the risks associated with potential avalanches in the snow-covered regions.
