PTI Leaders Demand Accountability and Justice

In a recent press conference held by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Omar Ayub, Salman Akram Raja, and Shibli Faraz, a strong demand for accountability and justice was reiterated. The leaders questioned the denial of a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan, despite ongoing negotiations. They emphasized the need for justice regarding the events of November 26 and expressed their commitment to pursuing it, reported Express News.

Claims of Delays and Unjust Treatment

During the press conference, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan addressed claims suggesting delays in the Al-Qadir Trust case due to a potential deal. He dismissed these allegations as frivolous, stating that witnesses had clarified that Imran Khan had neither taken money nor harmed the government. The party chairman highlighted the unjust treatment faced by PTI, with over 200 cases filed against its leadership, the removal of their electoral symbol, and victories being turned into defeats.

Push for Dialogue and Accountability

Omar Ayub, the opposition leader in the National Assembly, reiterated the demand for a meeting with Imran Khan, criticizing the government’s lack of response and failure to facilitate conditions-free dialogue. He called for a judicial commission to investigate past events and highlighted the current economic challenges facing the country. Salman Akram Raja, PTI General Secretary, emphasized Imran Khan’s commitment to justice and the party’s refusal to overlook bloodshed.

Concerns over Rule of Law and Constitution

Senator Shibli Faraz raised concerns about the delay in the Al-Qadir Trust case decision and the disregard for fair trials and the constitution. He warned that sidelining PTI, the country’s largest political party, could lead to instability. The leaders emphasized the importance of accountability, justice, and upholding the rule of law to ensure the country’s progress and democracy.
