Section 144 Imposed in Kurram After DC Attack: Safety Measures and Updates
Following an attack on the convoy of Kurram’s Deputy Commissioner in Bagan, authorities have imposed Section 144 in the district, banning all types of gatherings, Express News reported on Sunday. This decision comes in response to the recent violence that shook the region and left several individuals injured, including the Deputy Commissioner himself.
Safety Measures Implemented
According to a notification issued by the Additional Chief Secretary, restrictions are now in place along the main road from Teri to Chappri in an effort to maintain law and order in the region. These measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of residents and prevent any further incidents of violence from occurring.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Information Adviser Barrister Dr. Saif has vowed to uphold peace in Kurram under the Grand Jirga agreement and handle peace disruptors with an ‘iron hand’. Dr. Saif condemned the recent attack as a failed attempt to disrupt peace and called on the people of Kurram to remain vigilant against such threats. The local community was held responsible for violating the Kurram peace agreement, leading to the firing incident in Bagan. Officials have resolved to take immediate action by registering FIRs against those involved and ensuring their prompt arrest. Efforts are underway to bring the culprits to justice and uphold the rule of law in the region.
Identifying the Assailants
Authorities have identified the suspects responsible for the attack on Kurram’s Deputy Commissioner and have confirmed the involvement of facilitators in the incident. Five suspects have been identified, and legal action is being pursued to apprehend them and hold them accountable for their actions.
