PTI Demands in Second Round of Talks with Government
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has initiated the second round of talks with the government, putting forth crucial demands that include the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9 and November 26. Additionally, PTI is seeking the release of all political prisoners, including their founding chairman, Imran Khan.
PTI Delegation at Parliament House
A significant PTI delegation, comprising notable figures such as Omar Ayub, Raja Nasser Abbas, Asad Qaiser, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, and Salman Akram Raja, arrived at the Parliament House for the negotiation talks. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also joined the delegation, aiming to address critical issues on behalf of the opposition party.
Chaired by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the negotiation committee includes key participants like Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, PML-N leaders Irfan Siddiqui, Rana Sanaullah, PPP leaders Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Naveed Qamar, Aleem Khan, Farooq Sattar, Ejaz-ul-Haq, and Khalid Magsi.
PTI’s Demands and Stance
During the meeting, PTI representatives reiterated their demands for the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the events surrounding the May 9 protests and November 26 sit-ins. The party also emphasized the urgent need for the release of Imran Khan and other detained PTI members and supporters.
As negotiations proceed, Asad Qaiser acknowledged the potential lengthiness of the process and highlighted the limited progress made in the initial discussions. He expressed the party’s commitment to listening to the government while presenting their case effectively.
Imran Khan’s Directive to PTI
